Land of Chamomile in Hołowno

The thematic village was created on the basis of the tradition of growing chamomile in the area. The center of the village is the Regional Education Center – a modernized building of an old school and an open-air museum created around it, which consists of wooden buildings, a barn, granaries, a house made of straw and clay. These places show the life and work and the way our ancestors rested. All this takes place in an idyllic setting, which is created by well-kept and landscaped buildings, their equipment, greenery arranged with attention to every detail and places of relaxation.

Three years ago, the village expanded its infrastructure with the addition of the Herbal Manufactory, which is about two kilometers away. An old granary houses the Salt Cottage, and there is a fire pit and a well nearby. A 50-acre Educational Herbal Garden is currently under construction on its grounds in cooperation with the University of Life Sciences in Lublin.

The village offers individual and group workshops aimed at every age group: children, youth and adults.

History of the village

It owes its existence and development in particular to Gabriela Bilkiewicz and Grażyna Łańcucka, who are on the Association’s board of directors and whose goal is to maintain traditions, cultivate Polishness and develop national and cultural awareness.
